Tomorrow is my 22nd birthday. That’s a disgusting thought FOR SURE, but I am over mourning the passing days of nothingness. Welcome to my life update!
I now have two jobs. Both are part-time, but I am blessed to be making enough to pay my bills – go Jesus! I am the receptionist at a clinic and the marketing assistant for a national organization. Both jobs are pretty cool and I enjoy the people I work with.
This year my writing goal is 9 books in one year. My books range anywhere from 100,000 words to 200,000 (rarely below 100k but I think I may have one or two below.) I have already finished two books this year! Book 1 and 2 of a 4 book series. I have yet to start #3 but I have already planned all the chapters. (I finished book #2 on Saturday).
My relationship with God is doing pretty great. February was hard with the transition to two jobs and it is typically the month that is hardest for people with mental illness – so it was tough. However, God is good through all things and I enjoy Him immensely. At the end of January He saved my life (near car accident that would have killed me), so I am grateful for that.
I have read four books this year so far. Typically I save all my reading for December but my to be read list is too long and too good. Recently I finished C.S. Lewis’ “The Problem of Pain”. It was super good and I enjoy the witticism of C.S. Lewis. My favourite quote was “Nor am I greatly moved by jocular inquiries such as, ‘Where will you put all the mosquitoes?’ — a question to be answered on its own level by pointing out that, if the worst came to worst, a heaven for mosquitoes and a hell for men could very conveniently be combined.”
For my birthday I ordered the James Strong concordance Bible because Jesus has really been convicting me to get deeper into the Word again and not just read for the sake of reading – but to meditate and investigate. I also got a cool 52 week prayer guide and a board game – which has nothing to do with Jesus but everything to do with my birthday. I am psyched for it.
Still single – still living my best life. My roommate and I still get along well – too well almost. We stayed up past midnight talking more than a couple times in February. One of our topics that I invite you to engage on – who is the stupidest man in the Bible? My current vote is for Samson. He is given endless blessing and told there is one thing he cannot do, and even after a failed marriage, and the prostitutes attempt on his life a few times – he still tells her his secret. Stupidity on an elevated level.
One of my best friends and I started a t-shirt business: Just Jonesing. We plan to launch our first batch at the end of this month. I also intend to start a podcast at some point – the time line is a little faulty. I do not have the money now to get what I want to get, so I am hoping my tax refund is the good moolah. I will use that money then to buy the equipment and my voice will come to a platform near you.
Hoping to get back on schedule with blog posts starting next week. Thursday is going to be a spin-off what I did last year for my birthday. 22 things I have learned in 22 years. As always, if there is anything you want me to touch on – please let me know. At this time I literally have no idea but God is the one who gives me inspiration, so we are waiting on Him.
I got to help my brother setup his proposal to my best friend and they are now engaged. I set them up so I’m feeling pretty good about that. At this point I don’t really think there is anything else to update on. Thanks for tuning in.
God bless!
